After a successful debut at last weekend's Facedown Fest, Fallstar is excited to announce the release of Backdraft. Fallstar has been an understated force in the melodic hardcore scene for the past eight years, touring the US and partnering with such unique and prolific organizations such as XXXChurch.com and Come&Live! Backdraft is an amalgamation of various styles and controversial topics, all under the umbrella of pushing the envelope of heavy music. The album was produced by Kris Crummet (Asking Alexandria, Sleeping With Sirens) at Interlace Audio and features guest vocals from Memphis May Fire's Matty Mullins. The album is available now on iTunes.

"The entire record is solid, well composed and will create a ruckus when it drops. Nothing beats a band that can throw hip-hop, metal and poetic influence together and create something as brilliant as Backdraft." -Substream Music Press

"We capture a rowdy, heavy, fearless sound that doesn't take itself too seriously. There are elements of hip hop, poetry, scratching and Star Wars all culminating into a giant sinkhole revealing an ancient dinosaur civilization that has mastered the science of the space time continuum and inter-planetary combustion." -Vocalist Chris Ratzlaff

Fallstar will be releasing a video for "Drags, Drugs and Bones" on April 23rd. Enjoy a teaser for the video below:

About Fallstar: From Portland, OR come Fallstar, an unrestrained group of artists and musicians who draw just as much inspiration from their local punk and hardcore scene as they do from their hometown in general. "Our city is known for its global perspective, sustainable living, care for the homeless, and having ideas that challenge long-standing traditions and beliefs. So we've developed this way of thinking that is energized by our doubts and ideas. We're a west coast band, we're relaxed and not afraid of new things."

This band loves the mercurial atmosphere of a live show, and so write true to their genre with sing-alongs and crowd participation. The influences of hardcore and metal are there, but they aren't restrictive. The band spends countless hours layering and composing their songs to achieve the balance they desire. "Our music isn't incredibly technical, so there's lots of room for swinging guitars, jumping off things, chipped teeth and stitches."

Fallstar released a full length with Come&Live! in 2010, and we're proud to announce their debut Facedown release Backdraft, due out April 16, recorded by engineer Kris Crummett (Alesana, Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping with Sirens) at Interlace Audio and featuring Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire.
